The worldport of Providence is located at the convergence of Narragansett Bay and the Providence River just a 2.5 hour transit time from the Brenton Reef Pilot Station in Long Island Sound. Situated on our 105 acres we offer over 1 mile of linear berthing capable of working 6 vessels at any one time.

Intermodal
WTS and the Providence and Worcester Rail provide the Northeast's only true On-Dock rail capability. Three rail spurs allow direct vessel to rail transfer, indoor rail for convenient warehouse loading and rail line alongside our 20+ acres of open lay down area. The Providence and Worcester connects to all major rail carriers (CSX, NS, CP, NC, UP, BN) offering service from the Providence to anywhere in the contiguous U.S. and Canada

Whether you require indoor, outdoor, long or short term storage, WTS has everything to meet your needs:

Covered Storage - three warehouses totaling over 300,000 square feet of storage:
Ace Warehouse - 130,000 s.f. adjacent to covered rail line.
Marine Terminal Warehouse - 120,000 s.f. with indoor rail and 10 truck bay doors.
Shed 1 - 64,000 s.f. located in berth 1 adjacent to our on-dock rail line.
Outdoor Storage - 20+ acres paved open lay down area for either short or long term needs. All storage areas are adjacent to rail lines with the worldport.

Transloading
WTS specializes in the handling and throughput of bulk cargoes including transloading/transferring cargo direct vessel/vessel; vessel/barge; barge/barge. With two Week Marine floating cranes capable of operating at 1000 tph, we have the ability to transfer cargo from vessel to dock and to vessel/vessel or vessel/barge at the same time resulting in an expeditious vessel turnaround time

Equipment

No matter what the commodity handled at the worldport: coal or wood chips, steel or lumber, ro/ro or project cargo, WTS has the right equipment to meet our customer's needs and requirements. Listed below is a partial list of equipment at the

2 Weeks floating cranes with a traveling, duty cycle, gantry-mounted Model 28 Clyde;
of 50 ton stevedoring capacity and up to 1,500 CY production rates
mounted on a 250' x 65' x 12' seagoing barge
equipped with 32 CY clamshell bucket for granular cargoes
11 CY 8 tyne grapple and 15 CY ore clamshell for all other bulk cargoes
capable of hook lift work up to 155 tons
8 Front End Wheel Loaders all with scaled buckets ranging from 4.5 cubic yards to 17 cubic yards
3 End Dumps with 35 ton capacity
Dozers up to 29 cubic yard blade capacity
Skid Steers
