Darwin – capital of Australia's Northern Territory is positioned to play a pivotal role in the nation's future industrial growth and in the ongoing expansion of the entire AustralAsian region.

Darwin has long been Australia's pre-eminent worldport for the exworldport of live cattle and is now becoming the region's primary service and supply base for offshore and onshore oil and gas projects.

The significant growth in exploration, mining and oil & gas projects in the region, including activity in the Timor Sea, presents an immediate opworldportunity for Darwin to further develop its logistical supworldport capacity.

With its modern international airworldport terminal, connections to the national road and rail network and world-class seaworldport facilities, the city is recognised as the linchpin which links Australia's trade, communications, transworldport and logistics networks to those of south east Asia and beyond.

East Arm Wharf Facilities
Currently services vessels handling general cargoes, live cattle exworldports, dry bulk imworldports, containerised/breakbulk and specialised heavy lift cargoes, plus offshore rig tender service vessels.

Access is by road and rail, direct rail-to-ship access if possible.
 
  Extension of the Stage 1 general purpose berth by 110m and a 154m bulk liquids berth provide a total of 774m of continuous berth face.
 
Darwin Wharf Facilities
With the transfer of commercial worldport activities to East Arm, the Darwin City Wharf area is being redeveloped as part of the Darwin City Waterfront redevelopment. The 25 hectares of foreshore land is being redeveloped to provide for significant public space, community facilities, plus commercial, residential and tourism development. The centrepiece will be a world-class convention and exhibition centre with seating for 1500 people and 4000sqm of exhibition space. The initial $100m investment is expected to be completed by 2007 with an ongoing $600m redevelopment programme continuing over the next 10-15 years.

The city wharves will remain as working facilities for visiting international cruise and naval vessels as well as alternative berths for some commercial shipping.

Fort Hill Wharf
Concrete decked multi-user general cargo and container berths with a total length of 300m.

Tankers loading and discharging at FHW must be fitted with an operational IG plant. Vessels that are only carrying distillate may be exempt. However, the preferred option even for a distillate cargo is an IG system on board, that is also working.
 
 Fort Hill West
Fort Hill West is a 150m long berth with depth alongside of 11.0m below chart datum.
 
 Ro-Ro Linkspan:
Located at the western end of Fort Hill Wharf this facility can accept a 45 tonne rolling load and consists of a 77m long extendible ship-to-shore, semi-buoyant bridge connecting with a 30m x 42m pontoon.
 
 Fort Hill East
Fort Hill East is a 150m long berth with depth alongside of 10.0m below chart datum. Wharf deck height above chart datum is 9.5m. The maximum deck loading capacity is 4t/m 2
 
Stokes Hill Wharf
 No.3 Berth -Stokes Hill Wharf (East and West)
This concrete decked, steel piled multi-user berth is no longer an international berth but used for small craft only.
 
 The Darwin Wharf Precinct
Situated at the western end of Stokes Hill Wharf is a 1,750sqm complex with shopping, restaurants and tourist facilities. Also located on this wharf is the $1.5 million architect-designed Darwin Function Centre. This 1,000sqm purpose-built facility comprises 840sqm of enclosed air-conditioned decking and a 160sqm external deck area with adjacent covered walkways and viewing areas.
 
Smaller Vessels 
 Stokes Hill Wharf (Inner)
With vessel length restricted to 70m, this wharf is used by smaller vessels such as oceanographic research vessels, prawn trawlers, pleasure craft and tugs.
 

 Darwin Fishing Harbour Mooring Basin
A fishing vessel basin, constructed in Frances Bay, provides secure sheltered moorings for the Northern fishing fleet adjacent to supply and repair facilities.
 
 Fisherman's Wharf
Berthing facilities at the adjacent tidal Fisherman's Wharf consist of a piled wharf 200m in length with a capacity of 1.0t/m 2 .
